On January 9th, 1955, 52 residents of Devola and East Muskingum Township saw the need for a fire service in their area. They formed the Devola Volunteer Fire Department and acquired a 1930 Seagrave pumper from the city of Marietta. Through determination and hardwork, those men, as well as, the men and women to follow in their footsteps have built a fire and rescue service we can all be proud of.
We operate with funds collected from a fire/rescue levy and from the donations from the citizens of our community. The members are all volunteers and receive no pay for their services.
